Interim, Full or Major Service: Which Does Your Car Need?

"Full service" gets used loosely, so it's worth being specific about what our three service levels actually cover and when each one is due.

Interim service, every 6 months or 6,000 miles

Built for higher-mileage drivers who'd otherwise go too long between checks. Covers an oil change, fluid top-ups (brake fluid, power steering, coolant), a visual tyre inspection, and a safety check of tyres, lights and wipers.

Full service, every 12 months or 12,000 miles

Everything in the interim, plus air filter replacement, a windscreen, mirrors and seatbelt inspection, an exhaust check for leaks or corrosion, and a complete brake inspection covering pads, discs, calipers, pipes and hoses.

Major service, every 24 months or 24,000 miles

Everything in the full service, plus an air conditioning check, assessment of spark plugs and the radiator cap, and a full clutch inspection. This is the one to book if it's been two years or 24,000 miles since the last major, even if the car feels fine, some of what it covers doesn't show symptoms until it's already a problem.

Whichever comes first, mileage or time, is the one to go by. If you genuinely don't know when the car was last serviced, book an interim, our technicians will flag anything from the higher tiers that's actually needed rather than upselling you into a major you don't require. No pre-payment either way, you're only charged for what we find and agree with you first.
